Breath

This is what it’s like to have an asthma attack…

When you don't have it,
When you can't have it
It's scares you like you're nothing
It bests you and jests you
Until you heave with the effort

Makes you weak
Tests your peak
Until you've fallen with the tiredness
Having nothing but retirement
From the force of life.

It's a ballon, a bafoon
Made entirely in your lungs
Forcing you to stay
In just one position and sway
Lose strength to stay.

Light, yet heavy
In every inner crook and cranny
Short, yet tall
Fallen-in, fallen all
Until the breath comes back
Again
This time to cherish it.

Trust

A Curiosity Corner Dublin poetry

Trust Goes Both Ways
Goes, Pays
Loads, Waits
Given You the Eclipse
Taken You To Fairies.

Trust That Both Ways
Willingly, Killingly
Stays, Waves
Smiles, Lies
Taken You To Nowhere.

Trust that's Broken
Perfectly, Pendingly
Shattered to Infinity
Will we put it back together?
Can it be?

Trust Goes Nowhere
Stands Still
Times' Square
Roll With It
Cool With It
Done.

Sleepless in Dublin

When you can’t sleep… You write a poem about it!

Rotating emotions rolling on a wagon
Should I make this world into a full blown dargon?
Darkness comes with inspiration
Sleepless frustration.

It's the light I'm forcing to have
Rather that I'm forcing the shed
To bend unnaturally.
Ricocheting sleep tactfully.

Have we ever had a straight wall?
Have we imagine the vertigo fall?
Silverfish crawls the unseen spaces,
Sleep braces.

Perhaps those books that I should breathe in
Help will come from unknown places
Conjuring cats to calm the faces
Sleep lets me rest.
